सागर। डॉ मीना पिम्पलापुरे.. ..समाजिक कार्यो से लेकर औधोगिक क्षेत्र में स्थापित नाम है। समाज मे "ताई जी " के नाम से आम तौर पर लोग बुलाते है। उनके जीवन के 83 साल पूरे हो चुके है। सागर नगरवासियों के लिए स्नेहमयी सेवाभावी

व्यक्तित्व के रूप में समादृत हैं। उनका बहुआयामी व्यक्तित्व ही उनका परिचय है।  उन्होंने सागर को प्रदेश, देश और विदेश में स्थापित किया है, यह हम सबके लिए गौरव का विषय है।

उनका जन्म 7 अक्टूबर 1938 को सुशिक्षित एवं सम्पन्न परिवार में हुआ आपके पिता सम्मानित प्रो. डी.आर. भवालकर भौतिक शास्त्र के कुशल, अधीत विद्वान तथा विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में अनेक प्रकार से सम्मानित थे और सागर विश्वविद्यालय के विभिन्न पदों पर प्रतिष्ठित रहे। माताश्री डॉ. (श्रीमती) वनमाला भवालकर संस्कृत की विदुषी एवं मराठी की लेखिका ।इसी विश्वविद्यालय के संस्कृत विभाग की आचार्य रहीं। जिन्हें उत्कृष्ट संस्कृत लेखन के लिए अनेक बार सम्मानित एवं पुरस्कृत किया गया। ऐसे सुशिक्षित, सम्पन्न एवं संस्कारवान परिवार में मीना ताई अपने भाई-बहिनों के साथ सभी श्रेष्ठतम संस्कारों को अपनाती हुई शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में अग्रणी हुईं और अंग्रेजी, हिन्दी, संस्कृत, मराठी तथा अन्य भाषाओं में पारंगत हुईं। वे सागर विश्वविद्यालय की प्रतिभावान छात्रा रही हैं।

उनकी शादी सागर नगर के प्रसिद्ध उद्योगपति, समाजसेवी, सुधारक एवं मध्यप्रदेश के प्रसिद्ध उद्योगपति स्व. चिन्तामनजी राव के ज्येष्ठ पुत्र बाबूराव जी से तय हुआ और उन्हें दाम्पत्य जीवन में प्रवेश करना पड़ा। उसी घड़ी से आज तक

उन्होंने जीवन को अनेकानेक आयाम दिये और अनगिन कार्यक्षेत्रों में सक्रियता से अपने दायित्वों का निर्वहन किया है। उन्होंने इतनी उपलब्धियाँ औरकीर्तिमान अर्जित किये हैं कि गिनाना भी दुष्कर है। मीना प्रान्तीय और राष्ट्रीय स्तर की लगभग पच्चीस संस्थाओं से सम्बद्ध हैं और उनकी पदाधिकारी हैं। अन्तरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर भी वे अनेकानेक महिला संगठनों और आन्दोलनों से जुड़ी हुई हैं,।जिनमें 'इंटरनेशनल एलायंस ऑफ विमेन ट्राइनल काँग्रेस' और 'वर्ल्ड फेडरेशन ऑफ रोज सोसाइटीज' प्रमुख हैं। उन्होंने अन्तरराष्ट्रीय कन्वेन्शनों में भाग लेने हेतु पूरे संसार का भ्रमण किया है। उनकी व्यावसायिक उपलब्धियाँ भी वर्णनीय हैं। वे मध्यप्रदेश बीड़ी उद्योग संघ की अध्यक्षा हैं। उनकी विभिन्न सेवाओं का समादर करते हुए उन्हें प्रतिष्ठित सम्मानों से अलंकृत किया गया है। उन्हें मुख्य मंत्री श्री शिवराज सिंह जी चौहान ने "मध्य प्रदेश श्री " से नवाजा।  उन्हें पूर्व मुख्य मंत्री श्री दिग्विजय सिंह एवं राज्यपालों द्वारा कई पुरस्कारों और सम्मानों से नवाज़ा गया।

Born on 7th Oct.,1938 in a family of erudite Scholars, Father, Prof.Dr. D.R. Bhawalkar was a recipient of C.V. Raman Centenary Gold Medal, Mother, Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Vanmala Bhawalkar was awarded Tirumana National Award for Sanskrit Poetry.

Married to Shri Babu Rao Pimpalapure into a family of  thriving businessman and industrialist.
